Micros or ‘Whoops’ are the fastest growing family in the FPV racing drone world and it should come as no surprise; they are easier to master, cheaper to buy/repair and can be flown inside when the weather is poor. By shrinking the FPV drone the whole world becomes your race track, meaning FPV is only a moment away and strangers or neighbours are no longer threatened by your hobby, leaving you to relax and fully enjoy the FPV ride.
Different whoops excel in different environments; the 65mm tiny-whoops rule the house, whilst 75-95mm power-whoops like the BetaFPV 75X (pictured below) are great all-rounders; small enough to fly inside but with enough power to tackle outdoor obstacles.
By providing a daily dose of FPV, whoops build your appetite for the rarer thrills of larger 5” racing or freestyle multirotors and develop the skills you’ll need to handle them. Our whoop FPV racing drone comparison matrices (see top) are designed to point you towards the whoop that includes the feature or features most important to you. If time allows, make sure to watch a video review of the 75mm Tiny Hawk by KababFPV (below), which provides a great example of the breadth and depth of whoop capability.
