MultiGP Drone Racing Community – 6S Race Motor Opinions

I prefer the Tmotors but the Evan Turner motors (Headsup) look awesome  Michael

All good motors that could all get you the win. It’s a preference thing. I vote Evan’s  Skye

I would pick a decent readily available motor for racing, it sucks to not be able to get parts you use half way through the season and have to change your setup  Jim

The Chief motors are sooo smooth! Absolute favourite motor I have ever flown! And I have flown many on that list  Drone

Just get whatever you find in the FPV sales alerts so you can buy spares. A new medium priced motor will outperform a banged up premium priced motor  Jon

Headsup if you can spend more on motors, the eco hyperlites if you need budget  Rob

Team BlackSheep LOUNGE – 6S Freestyle Motor Opinions

If paying over $23 per motor get one with ezo bearings, titanium shafts, single coil strands. Right now my first choice would be the T Motor Pro60 IV in 1750kv, Xing 1800kv, Karearea/Armattan TOA, etc. It’s also very personal and you’ll never know until you try a bunch. I’ve found matching the kv to the magnetic spacing and magnetic strength has a big impact. For example strong magnets with minimal spacing paired with lower kv (1750kv) feels less smooth than higher kv with weaker designed magnetic spacing and strength. Titanium shafts are lighter and better milled which means less stripping the prop nut which makes it easier to remove props. The majority of recommendations are just what people most recently purchased and not many have flown a wide variety. Another major factor is how available a motor is. Eventually you may break one and want to replace – hopefully several retailers carry it for your ease  Ryan

You cant compare a 25 bucks motor with a 9 bucks. For 25 I’d get the T-motors. Light, durable and very powerful. If I only had 40 for a set, I’d get the Ecos because i have them and they have been really good. Literally killed all the other 9 bucks motors. Just like hobbywing did with their 60a esc at 45 bucks  Leonardo

Steele V3. Have them on 2 quads and V2 on one. Love them  Nicky

Something you didnt put was the Hobbywing 2306 Race Pro. Absolutely love it  Garrett

I’d try ~2100kv for a really fun 5in 6s freestyle experience  Harry

Was on the same search, went for the Ethix Stout v3, smooth and solid motor  Chris
