Best Video Transmitter for FPV Drone Comparison Table

Clickable tables (above) will take a few seconds to load… CLICK tables for latest prices. OFFICIAL DJI DIGITAL FPV OWNERS GROUP was asked to vote for their ‘preferred vtx for digital FPV?’. DRONE RACING INTERNATIONAL FPV and T-MOTOR FPV motors groups were asked to vote for their ‘favourite vtx for racing?’. Longe Range Hooligans group was asked to vote for their ‘favourite vtx for long-range?’. Maximum mW and weight data sourced from product descriptions. Use our comparison table to find the video transmitter (VTX) for racing, long-range or digital FPV with the greatest popularity, lowest weight, greatest transmission power or value. Digital VTXs require the DJI digital FPV camera. Racing and long-range VTXs require non-digital (e.g. analog) FPV cameras. Next, explore the VTX choices of championship winning FPV racers and freestyle pilots or continue reading for the opinions of individual FPV pilots.

OFFICIAL DJI DIGITAL OWNERS GROUP – Digital VTX Opinions

I’m not sure which I like better. Vista or air unit. Both have their purpose. For me normal 5” flying and racing around trees I prefer air unit. Micro sized and light weight 5” on a normal open course vista  Kelvin

I haven’t flown my AU’s since I got my Vistas aside from the comparison vlogs 😳  Conrad

For me the vista and bandoo got enough range on 200mw, no problems with analog users and more range than 800mw analog  Patrick

5 inch = AU, otherwise Vista  Rick

Long Range Hooligans – Long-range VTX Opinions

In fairness, I know 1.3Ghz is better and penetration is great when using just omni. My long range is always casual, quick setup times, there is literally no beating a 400-1W 5.8Ghz system for 10-15km when you can literally just screw a tiny crosshair or spironet 13dbi to your goggles and have good video. All without needing a ground station. If I’m going to take the time to shoot out to like 20km+, I will make the effort of setting up the ground station  Josh

I haven’t actually done any propper long range with it, but I’ve really been liking the fx2 dominator, it needs to be cooled well, but it puts out a clean 1.8w of power as measured on proper lab equipment. I have no idea what amp they’re using to do it, but they’re doing something right  Luke

Any of them will do good with good antennas. A good receiver antenna is worth 10 vtxs  Mike

OFFICIAL DJI DIGITAL FPV OWNERS GROUP – Digital Frame Opinions

I almost bought the skyliner hd but all that gap and lack of standoffs under the top plate I decided not too. It’s a shame too because I thought it was a good looking frame. I ended up ordering the dji edition badger which is supposed to be here today. Hope it flys well with no vibrations  Frank

Readymaderc strix screech 5.5 & 6in 5mm boomerang arms & 97g w all titanium hardware added includes motor screws 🙂 MORGAN FPV YouTube if ya wanna see how they fly ….spoiler smooth AF  David

OFFICIAL DJI DIGITAL FPV OWNERS GROUP – Flight Controller for DJI Air Unit Opinions

So, Ive decided for all of my quads with the DJI system to run off a separate BEC (BEC = battery elimination circuit or voltage regulator). Reason being, I suck at this. Bad. I crash a lot and go for cool cinematic shots when sometimes I should hold back. One of the things I’ve noticed during my numerous crashes is that the BEC on the FC seems to be a weak point in a crash. Crashes that the DJI air unit would have otherwise survived. I’ve had 3 different FC BECs go bad during a crash from 3 different manufacturers that have smoked an air unit. I have yet to have an external BEC go bad on me. Plus, I don’t have to worry about looking up if the FC can supply power to the air unit or not  Nick

Bad experience with Mamba f405 9v going bad on multiple boards. Also it skips out badly if you crash ever  JT

Loving the DC3, DC5 in the future  Paolo

I have a dc5 and a dc3 ❤️❤️❤️ and I just love them ❤️❤️❤️ they fly so well  Dario

*Iflight redid the camera mount and it leaves the camera very vulnerable to damage in even a bad landing. I am not happy at all with mine  Chris

Enjoying the DC5. I’m new to fpv but seems fairly solid. (Crashed it a few times)  Blake

I have the Xilo Phreakstyle from GetFPV and love it. Pretty sure its their best/most reviewed DJI pre-built as well. Surprised to not see it on the list  Kevin

I started with DC5 so I had a working Quad from day 1 and when I broke the frame I build a dji badger and I really prefer X design over DC5 design (can’t remember name atm). The dji badger flies so much better  Jesper

BetaFPV does not sell extra hardware for the Beta95x. You can buy a new frame but it doesn’t come with any screws or spacers. This info is directly from BetaFPV themselves. That’s the first issue that relates directly to the second issue – its incredibly fragile. Mine also came missing 2 motor mount screws. I’m looking into other options and would not buy the 95X again  Joey
